Build and Channel Energy for Confidence

Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose)

Purpose: Engineering Confidence & Peak Performance

If you teach your body to gather energy, you can let it build up and then release it. This is useful when you feel nervous and need to deliver a performance or speak in public.

This pose is your training ground for building confidence step by step, then using all that energy at once to project power outwards.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Start by lying on your back.

Bend your knees and keep your feet on the ground. You should be able to tickle the backs of your heels with your fingers.

Let your arms lie straight by your sides, palms facing down.

Press your palms down onto the floor, tuck your tailbone under, and slowly lift your hips off the ground.

Clasp your hands behind your back, and wriggle your shoulders so the outside of your arms is on the floor.

Keep your knees parallel and push them forwards. Keep pushing your hips up, but try to unclench your buttock muscles.

Push your arms and shoulders into the floor so your chest lifts as high as possible toward the ceiling.

Gather all your energy into the lowest part of your belly, and when it's 'charged', radiate all your energy throughout the pose.

To exit: unclasp your hands, let your shoulders lie normally, and gently lower down from the top of your back.

Janu Sirsasana (Head-to-Knee Pose)

Purpose: Treasuring Vulnerability & Deep Listening

Even during your powerful ovulatory phase, this pose helps you dive deep into yourself to access your inner wisdom and future vision. It's a beautiful balance to your outer radiance.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Sit on the ground with both legs out in front of you. Sit up straight on your sitting bones.

Bend the right knee and place the sole of the right foot on the inside of the left leg, above the knee.

Push both feet hard - left heel kicks out, right heel pushes into left leg.

Lift both arms above your head, and fold forward.

Place your hands on each side of your straight leg, let your head hang freely. Only go as far as you can stay for 5 breaths or more.

Close your eyes and listen to what you're feeling. Create a picture in your head of what you want for your future.

To exit: gently return to straight back, extend the right foot, then switch sides and repeat.
